Parent/Child & Family Programs:

“BackPack Program”
The Nanton Quality of Life Foundation created the BackPack Program in hopes of assisting qualifying families the cost associated with children returning to school.  The cost of children starting or returning to school can cause a financial struggle for many families.  The goal of the BackPack Program is to help alleviate this burden, by providing a backpack filled with various school supplies and equipment needed for students returning to school in the Nanton area.
The estimated cost associated with each backpack is $70.00 – 95.00 (depending on the grade).  This amount covers the cost of both the backpack and the supplies.  Backpacks will be customized to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, containing most of the essential supplies needed for each grade.  This program is totally funded solely through donations received from community businesses, organizations, and individuals.  This program does not receive any other financial support.

Members of the community are invited to help out in any way they can.  Donations of school supplies or financial assistance can be made at the Nanton Quality of Life Foundation office.  Any qualifying families that struggle with the cost associated with their children returning to school may apply for the BackPack Program in August at the Nanton Quality of Life Foundation.  Application forms can be found here.

Program Details:
  • The BackPack Program is income-based; financial eligibility must be proven.
  • Only residents within the Nanton Quality of Life Foundation service area are eligible.
